eBay Signup 1-2-3

If you’ve never had an eBay account, figuring out how to get all set up can seem daunting. However, signing up is really very uncomplicated and you can be buying or selling in no time at all. Only two steps are necessary to get started: signing up with eBay and signing up with PayPal as your payment processor (actually PayPal isn’t a complete necessity but your eBaying will go much smoother with a PayPal account).
Neither of these services have any signup fees whatsoever, both are extremely secure, and neither will sell your email address to anyone else. So hold my hand and I’ll walk you through. These links both go directly to the registration forms so you don’t have to go searching all over the eBay and PayPal websites for them. All these links open in a new browser window, so you’ll need to turn off your popup blocker.
- eBay Registration Form
- PayPal Registration Form ~ If you are just planning to start out buying, go ahead and sign up for the Personal Account. If you plan to sell on eBay in the near future, a Premier Account would be the way to go. PayPal allows you to upgrade your account from Personal to Premier or Business at any time though, so starting with a Personal Account is usually advisable.
- You are now all set up for eBay! Wasn’t that easy? I bet you still have a few questions on how to buy and sell though, huh? Here are a couple of very short checklist pages that will get you started:
And 1-2-3, you’re off and running. Welcome to the whole new world of eBay!

Hi Rachel,
I just subscribed to your newsletter and I am having difficulty accessing the “how to buy” and “how to sell” web links on this page. IT keeps saying they have been deactivated. Could you please suggest alternate sites or if this has been updated somewhere else??
